The people behind the pipeline

Leadership & Faculty

The student leadership committee, co-founders, and faculty advisors who build and sustain the ORIGINS pipeline.

ORIGINS began with a simple, frustrating observation: osteopathic medical students with the talent and drive for surgical careers were being held back not by ability, but by access. They lacked the research mentors, structured projects, and scholarly opportunities that their allopathic peers often took for granted, and that residency programs increasingly expect.

Co-founded by Vincent Alexander, Skylarr Beerman, Brenton Stucki, and Andrew Vogel, ORIGINS is run by a student leadership committee and guided by its founders and faculty advisors. Together they volunteer their projects, their time, and their mentorship to build a pipeline that is structured, scalable, and sustainable. The program is affiliated with the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons Medical Student Section (ACOS-MSS).
